The perfect fit for our Waldorf family! We are grateful to have 3 of Lotus & Ivy’s highly skilled teachers supporting supporting our family this year. Lotus & Ivy has sought out some of the best Waldorf educators to lead the school. Their experience is quite impressive and translates into the daily learning experience! They go above and beyond! Their dedication makes our connection feel as strong as if we were seeing them daily. The live class times and assignments provide wonderful rhythm, balance and structure to our days. The kids tell me often, how much they love their school. My children have built relationships with their classmates and often connect outside of class times. I was unsure if online learning would work for us, we have been pleasantly surprised by all that Lotus & Ivy has to offer. The virtual space opens opportunity for connection across time zones, states, and countries. We are grateful to have such expanded opportunities for learning and connecting with other Waldorf families and teachers across the globe. Highly recommend!

There is so much wonderful praise we would like to give Lotus and Ivy and the teachers! We love your format and the classes and would love for our daughter to be in Lotus and Ivy up until class 8! And beyond if you offer it in the future! The curriculum is beautiful, the teaching just lovely, the pace rigorous. Lotus and Ivy directors and founders are always quick to provide scheduling solutions and just brilliant in providing the Waldorf inspired school online! We cant say enough of your teachers! Ms. Russo is obviously a very talented master teacher and very grounded in the Waldorf pedagogy; which we admire greatly! She is so talented in bringing to life the interdisciplinary learning of the India main block that our daughter has been inspired to learn to make ghee and Tulsi tea with rose petals with me; also so inspired she has taught her friends yoga asanas and how to meditate with the mantra ohm (ॐ)! Ms. Russo has guided our daughter in wet-on-wet water paintings, taught form drawing, taught our daughter to recite complicated poetry, besides teaching composition, map mapping and more all steeped in a surreal, ephemeral, and beautiful quality reminiscent of the ancient India the children are learning about! Ms. Domokos provides such a lovely delivery of math concepts drawing on Steiner’s emphasis on developing critical thinking and cultivating a utilizing of kinesthetic mode that teaches on deeper body levels; as opposed to rote cognitive exercise in memorization just to teach to an exam. Our daughter has been so inspired by Ms. Domokos teaching, that she has knit and sewed her own hemp bean bags to use to count the factors and on her own draws extraordinary sacred geometric pictures that resemble mandalas! We also feel so grateful to the teaching and encouragement of the students in resolving math puzzles together and to look for various solutions together; this fosters friendship and working in community. Lotus and Ivy is truly holistic teaching with the mind, heart, and hands! We have already shared the beautiful main lessons books that my daughter has been guided to created in class with family, friends and fellow-homeschooling parents. We often travel to Spain and England to be with family and friends. We also live rurally in the mountainous Hilltowns of New England far from a brick-in-mortar Waldorf school-we feel thrilled that Lotus and Ivy can provide the Waldorf inspired holistic education to our daughter regardless of our traveling. Lotus and Ivy enhances our world-schooling and grounds our daughter in a rhythm described by Rudolph Steiner and at the same time providing the inspiration of the delights of discovery and the pure love of learning. We feel so grateful to have met this amazing online Waldorf inspired school and highly recommend Lotus and Ivy to other homeschooling families.

As Lotus & Ivy's Kindergarten teacher, I have been absolutely delighted to see that traditional Waldorf activities can translate so well in this live online teaching platform! We paint, we bake bread, we make soup and other snacks, we finger knit, we do handwork and crafts, we sing and move in circle, we listen to stories, and we even have had a puppet show and a PLAY! The students have been excited to participate in everything I've introduced this year. Having the chance to reimagine material I've taught in a traditional Waldorf setting so that it works in an online format has re-enlivened my teaching in exciting and dynamic ways. Because the students need to have their materials readily available prior to class, I am working closely with parents to provide written explanations about my lessons in advance. This has helped me to clarify and often simplify the details so that Waldorf methodology is less of a mystery to parents. After each lesson, I feel like the luckiest Waldorf kindergarten teacher on the planet. To be able to bring a true Waldorf experience into the lives of my dear students, who live all around the nation, fills me with joy and excitement every day.

Greetings! My name is Mary Jo AbiNader. I am the third grade teacher at Lotus & Ivy and I am thrilled with the families and colleagues that I have met. The children are eager, attentive and resourceful when it comes to their lessons and managing the technology. I have been a Waldorf classroom teacher for 17 years and am a certified Remedial and Educational Support Specialist. During our first block, our circle had marching, singing and a Hebrew folk dance connected to the Creation stories. Students were even able to do a somersault as part of our movement work. I enjoy sharing the traditional Waldorf curriculum but also sharing stories that broaden understanding of the world we live in today. If you are looking for a program that is current and full of the head, heart and hands that you expect from a Waldorf School, Lotus & Ivy will be a great fit💕
